Manager – Payroll

Job Summary:

As the Payroll specialist you will ensure error free payroll administration by maintaining employee records, calculating salaries and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, handle payroll accounting, and compliance . Additionally, you oversee off-roll employee payroll, validate compensation structures for new hires, and maintain vendor relationships. You will be the primary point of contact for responding to payroll related employee enquiries on a day to day basis. You will ensure seamless completion of all payroll, salary tax and labour compliance related audits of payroll processes. You must always ensure proper record maintenance and documentation for all compliance purposes.

Key Responsibilities

 
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including input validation, coordination with service providers, and bank file uploads for online payments.
  • Prepare payroll-related entries, accruals, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in payroll accounting. Generate monthly cost analyses and share management reports for decision-making.
  • Validate monthly statutory reports, ensure timely compliance challan deposits, quarterly TDS returns, and investment proof collections.
  • Handle payroll processing for off-roll employees, including register validation and invoice processing to ensure timely payments.
  • Manage timely and accurate full and final settlements for exited employees.
  • Ensure complete documentation and successful completion of all payroll and compliance related audits.
  • Validate compensation structures for new hires, maintain full and final settlement trackers, manage insurance documentation, handle HR compliance activities, and issue corporate credit cards and relocation letters.
  • Oversee HR vendor relationships, including onboarding, invoice processing, and monthly accrual management to ensure smooth operations and cost efficiency.
  • Participate in the development and management of compensation budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial objectives.
  • Adapt to changes in payroll regulations, procedures, and technologies, proactively seeking ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in payroll processing.
  • Analyze payroll data and reports to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvement, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Required Competencies:
  • You will ensure data accuracy and precision in payroll calculations, processing & meticulousness, error checking.
  • You will adhere to policy, audit readiness & maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state payroll regulations and will ensure compliance.
  • You should have an eye for detail to analyze payroll data to identify trends, resolves issues and improve processes.
  • You would demonstrate a strong understanding of financial principles related to payroll, budgeting and cost management.
  • You will maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information & demonstrates integrity in all actions.
Work Experience & Qualifications
  • Graduate/Post graduate with minimum 10 years of experience in payroll & compliance, preferably within the same industry.
  • Very strong data skills
  • Strong understanding of employment law & regulatory compliance requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
